Friday Find: Original Spaghetti Scrub

Cleaning potatoes isn’t one of my favorite tasks despite being my favored starch. Typically, I leave that chore to my husband because he meticulously extracts every eye and blemish from each potato using his beloved OXO swivel peeler.  I simply don’t have the patience. Plus, I have to preserve my little lady hands.

Months ago I bought this Original Spaghetti Scrub from Goodbye detergent! at Crate & Barrel.  After rediscovering it tucked away under my sink, I used it on petite potatoes. Although scrubbing potatoes isn’t a listed use, I took a chance because I’m a daredevil like that. Guess what? With a little water, the coarse corn cob scrubby thing worked!

Now, I wouldn’t want to deprive my husband of potato duty, but I’ve found a new tool that works on thin-skinned potatoes, is environmentally friendly and has multiple uses.

Try it and let me know what you think!

Yes, you are supposed to scrub them! I haven’t tasted any dirt I enjoyed ;-)
